CASA BLANCA
house is approximately 2000 square feet in size. It has two private
bedrooms, a third loft bedroom, two baths, a large breezeway, a large
living area and kitchen, and a roof deck with a wooden shade structure
over half of the deck. Adjacent to the house are extensive gardens,
with many coconut trees and other native plants and flowers.
The basic structure of the house is
concrete construction. The main center portion of the house is two
stories tall with the roof deck on top, made with a concrete tile
floor. Stairs from the living area on the first floor lead to a second
story loft bedroom, and then on up to the roof deck. There is a large
breezeway on the first floor, immediately to the north of the main
structure. The west end of this breezeway has a wood screened door,
which is the main entrance to the house, and the east end has a
louvered door that exits down to the beach and the Caribbean ocean.
North of the breezeway is a large bedroom with a private bathroom.
Immediately south of the main living area is another very large bedroom
and bathroom. Adjacent to the main living space is a large kitchen.
The roof structure of the north and
south bedrooms is of native logs with a palapa-type grass- thatched
roofing.
